7 Weeks!

Tomorrow marks 7 weeks!

Does anyone remember that episode of Sex & The City where Miranda has her son and is holding him right after delivery and says to Carrie "it's weeeird" LOL. That's the feeling I get when I open the babe's closet. Its weeeird. "Soon a little body is going to be in that shirt, little feet in those shoes!"

What a ride. Worth every twist and turn to be able to say "7 weeks!"

Who knew?!

....and the real ride hasn't even begun!

6 weeks!

Hi guys! Once again, not much happening just wanted to celebrate our 6 week mark!

Last weekend we did the AdopTalk workshop. Truth be told I was really excited about it, then not, then was again. It ran both Saturday and Sunday from 9:30am-4:30pm but since we live where we live it was a bit of a commute and that made for a longer day. If you're not familiar, Adoptalk is a lot like PRIDE but also focused on the time spent in country so that was really helpful. They also talk a lot about parenting, health, travel, etc.

My favourite part of these workshops are always the speakers and this past weekend did not disappoint. A doctor spoke for a good hour about medical stuff, vaccines, what meds to bring, etc. A family that just returned from Korea three weeks ago stopped by to show off their son "J", a social worker spoke about developmental expectations, a family from the China program visited, a family from the Kazakhstan program, and an adult Korean adoptee. All really helpful.

If you're a close friend or family member and you think that you may be interested in attending a future workshop just say the word! They offer special information sessions specifically for friends and family. They answer questions like "Why are so and so parenting in this style?" or "What is positive adoption talk?" or...you catch my drift. All important questions and not to worry- the workshops for friends and family are not a full weekends commitment. ;) They're just a couple hours if memory serves me.

However- If you don't want to attend a workshop we're still open to discuss all of those things with you now or in the future. Just wanted to throw that out there.

In fact, maybe I could put a post together? Let me work on it.

All in all it was a great weekend and M and I always leave these workshops so amped up to be parents. Soon we could be the ones just back from our trip!

Oh! Before I forget- I revamped that dumpling recipe and the recipe for bulgogi and gave them another go this past week. The results were incredible! I'll re-post the re-worked recipes w/ pics next time I make them. We devoured every last piece before I even had a chance to take a pic this time round.

Have a great weekend!

P.S. Right now it is 3:08 am (Saturday morning) in Seoul. Five degrees celsius and just a few clouds. Sweet dreams little one! Love from here to there!

4 weeks

Hey! No news. Just wanted to say "hi" and let you know that this Friday marks 4 weeks that our file has been in Korea! Of course its on my mind 24-7 but every once and a while I have this moment of "Our file is in Korea! Someone could be looking at it right now!"

How is it possible to miss someone you've never met?? Its the weirdest thing. I miss him / her. Maybe its the wrong word. Its how it feels though.

Confession- I'm buying clothing. Not a ton, just the super cute things I can't pass up. Have been for a while....and a couple toys....and a pair of shoes. Don't judge me.

;)
